Christmas Karma is a new retelling of the classic Dickens tale A Christmas Carol and features an all-star cast that includes Kunal Nayyar, Eva Longoria, Billy Porter, Boy George, Leo Suter, Pixie Lott, Charithra Chandran, Danny Dyer and Hugh Bonneville. 

It will arrive on British screens on 14th November.

Kunal Nayyar is Mr. Sood, a modern-day Scrooge, who we follow on 

The musical feature has music from the likes of Gary Barlow, Nitin Sawhney, Shaznay Lewis, Ben Cullum, Panjabi MC and Malkit Singh

Gurinder explains…

Gurinder Chadha said her musical, A Christmas Karma, shares “exactly the same” message as the author’s 1843 novel.

She said: “All I had to do was interpret it through my lens today. He [Dickens] had already given me a structure. He’d already given me the characters. My job was to say, how is this relevant to today, and what is my message to the world? And hopefully they’re not too dissimilar.”

She added: “You know, 200 odd years later, my film’s saying exactly the same thing that Dickens was saying. It’s just that it’s through my lens as a British-Asian woman, basically.”
